Chopped Strand Mat (CSM) is a random fibre mat that provides equal strength in all directions and is used in a variety of hand lay-up and open mould applications.

A chopped strand mat is produced by chopping continuous strand roving into short 1.5-to-3-inch lengths and dispersing the cut fibres randomly over a moving belt to form a “sheet” of the random fibre mat.

A binder is applied to hold the fibres together and the mat is trimmed and rolled. Because of its random fibre orientation, chopped strand mat conforms easily to complex shapes when wet out with polyester or vinyl ester resins. Chopped strand mats are available as a roll stock product produced in a variety of weights and widths to suit specific applications.

Product Description
Alkali free Fiber Glass are randomly distributed and bonded together with a polyester binder in powder or emulsion form. Standard chopped strand lengths are manufactured in 6, 12 & 50mm. However we can supply as per customer’s requirement.
